Responsible for managing the day to day planning of engineering initiatives and reporting to Operations Management. Most projects will be focused on continuous development. Tasks include: identifying problems or opportunities that support projects and operations, managing the process of developing feasible solutions to the identified issues, utilizing various engineering disciplines, and managing the engineering process for the chosen solution, conducting and leading design reviews at various engineering stages, as well as managing the planning process for execution of the engineered solution.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the operations projects with multiple project engineers and managers within the region including engineering, procurement, and team management.
  •  Maintain project functions included but not limited to Project Management, Site Management, Project Control Management, Engineering Management, Procurement, etc. Ensure that all tasks are coordinated and properly staffed to meet the project(s) goals.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting standards are maintained throughout the project(s).
  • Coordinate and communicate with project team as needed on major projects.
  • Coordinate with regional and site management on status, significant trends and changes of approved projects.
  • Establish the working relationship with operations management needed to facilitate the coordination and execution of project work, such that the operations are minimally impacted.
  • Ensure that safety and QA/QC programs are understood and maintained by all parties. Conduct reviews of detailed design drawings and specifications.
  • Monitor engineering progress against budget and forecasted schedule.
  • Participate in and lead risk assessments. Actively manage the risks of the projects and the business.
  • Prepare project estimates, budget, schedules, and execution plans.
  • Prepare the engineering budget, project schedules and project control budgets for mechanical projects.
  • Prepare and submit reports on the progress and status of the project
  • Maintain effective and on-going communications with projects engineers.
  • Assist with project QA/QC and commissioning systems and documentation.
  • Perform other project engineering and project management related duties.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching and direction setting to team members and project engineers.
  • Ensure project team training and development.
  • Other duties assigned by management.


  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Prior hands-on experience working with computers (hardware and/or software)
  • Ability to work effectively individually and in a group environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to handle multiple projects and priorities
  • PE license is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents such as drawings, procedures, and specifications is preferred.
  • Ability to research engineering and design issues, evaluate alternatives, make sound technical recommendations, and prepare technical documents and presentations is preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to occasionally travel for job related activities is required.


(Primarily – Industrial Controls and Devices)
Will be working on customer sites in the pharmaceutical environment. Industrial controls device mounting, wiring and terminating: sensors, cameras, scanners, line printers and misc. controls devices to local control cabinets.

  • Lift and / or maneuver packages and equipment in excess of 70 lbs
  • Read, understand and make basic corrections to electrical line diagrams and prints
  • Groom and terminate wire and cable of various sizes and colors to terminal blocks located in control cabinets at floor height and above (#26 – # 10 Awg. Cat 5)
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge and experience with common hand tools used in electrical controls installation (Cutters, Strippers, Crimpers)
  • Drill and tap holes on conveyer lines
  • Ability to use a systemic approach in the preparation of job layout from floor plans and electrical plans
  • Follow procedures and directions and to contribute to the improvement of them
  • Results-oriented with excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with team members and customers
  • Ability to function effectively as an individual and in a team with little or no supervision

Other Requirements:

  • Ability and desire to travel though out the US, Canada, Mexico and other counties world wide (Most trips do not exceed two weeks)
  • Posses or obtain a US passport
  • Must be eligible to work in the US and abroad without sponsorship and able to pass a drug test and DMV and background check
  • 2+ years of Electrical Installation experience or equivalent


Desired Skills/Education/Experience: 

  • Experience with electrical trouble shooting and testing a plus
  • Formal training in the above skill sets is a plus
  • Familiarity with the Pharmaceutical Industry a plus
  • Familiarity with machine vision, industrial controls (IE. PLC wiring) a plus
  • Familiarity with IT wiring / terminations (Cat 5) a plus 
  • Factory training and certification of our systems will be provided
  • Technical training and/or skills reinforcements are available to the right candidate


Portfolio Directors are the senior day-to-day people on every Vantage Consulting Group account, providing the highest levels of client service and driving results on-time and on-budget. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Business strategies, they are the client’s link between executive-level strategic planning and front-line execution.

Portfolio Directors help define the objectives for client projects then directly supervise to ensure they’re properly executed. They collaborate closely with clients and operations staff to translate business needs into specific tasks.

Key qualifications include:

  • Ten or more years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • A background in project management, account management, engineering or manufacturing operations
  • Demonstrated ability to exceed client expectations
  • Record of delivering project on time and at or under budget
  • Engineering degree preferred
  • Spanish language skills highly desirable


Senior Validation Engineers are responsible for lifecycle document development, including validation master plans, IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, traceability matrix and FAT and SAT plans. They also will execute the protocols and plans as necessary. The Senior Validation Engineer will report in through the Operations group, working closely with engineering, project management and the client’s validation staff.

Senior Validation Engineers work as part of a larger project team, but also may work as seconded services, supplementing a client’s staff. They will review technical documentation, drawings and plant floor systems interfaces in order to develop test scripts and plans.

Key qualifications include:

  • Ten or more years of validation experience in pharma, bio-tech or medical device industries
  • A background in packaging equipment qualifications and computer system validation
  • Experience in validating serialization solutions a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Engineering degree preferred
